Your Media Super Pension account has transferred to a Cbus Super Income Stream account
The Significant Event Notice outlines the changes in detail. You should read the relevant notice(s) that relate to your Media Super accounts. There are a number of important changes including a Limited Services Period where some of our services will not be available as we complete the merger.
Pension Significant Event Notice, Media Super and Cbus are preparing to merge, issued 23 February 2022.
Important 2022 dates for pension members
| 15 March | If you were scheduled to receive a payment in April, it will have been paid to you earlier, 15 March. The payment might have arrived in your bank account after this date, depending on your provider. |
| 1 April | Requests for full or partial withdrawals received after 5pm will not be processed until 26 April. |
| 9 April | Your Media Super Pension account will start to be transferred to your new Cbus Super Income Stream account. |
| 26 April | Full services commence from 26 April. |
| May | You’ll receive an exit statement to close out your Media Super Pension account. You’ll also receive a Welcome pack for your new Cbus Super Income Stream account. This will include your member number, how you can log in to the new member portal, and other important information. |
| 15 May | Cbus will commence making payments for your Super Income Stream account (in line with your current frequency and amount). |

Tax free elections will transfer to Cbus
The Pension Significant Event Notice, Media Super and Cbus Super are preparing to merge, dated 23 February 2022, outlined that your Tax File Number will come across to your new Cbus Super Income Stream on 9 April 2022, however your tax-free election would not transfer.
We have good news – we can now confirm that your tax-free election will transfer across to your new Cbus Super Income Stream on 9 April 2022. You do not need to fill out a new form. No further action is required of you.
