Change or cancel your insurance
Most Media Super members are eligible for some level of automatic insurance cover. But we know that one size doesn’t fit all and there's a lot of reasons why the automatic level of cover might not suit you.
You might need to protect yourself and your family for a higher amount to cover mortgage payments. Or you’ve met with a financial planner who has recommended a different amount for you. Or you simply already have insurance outside of super.
Whatever the reason, you can tailor your insurance cover to suit your needs.
Before making any changes, think about how much insurance you need to make sure you, and your loved ones, have enough money if things don’t go to plan. Have a read of our insurance guides for more information.
It’s always a good idea to speak to someone to discuss your insurance needs before making changes. Don’t feel you have to make these decisions alone.

How to change or cancel your insurance cover
Change your cover to suit your life
You can apply to change your cover anytime. Give us a call if you’d like some advice, or try our insurance needs calculator to see how much cover you may need.
Cancel your cover
You can choose to cancel some or all of your cover, and you’ll no longer be charged for the cover you cancel.
Just remember:
- If you cancel cover, then change your mind and want insurance cover later, you’ll need to provide detailed health and other information for our insurer to consider, and you may not qualify for cover.
- Insurance claims can’t be made, by you or your beneficiaries, if you’re injured or pass away after you cancel your cover. You may still be able to make a claim for any events or conditions that occurred before you cancelled your cover.
- If you’re cancelling to replace your cover with alternative cover, make sure your alternative cover is in place before you cancel.
How to change or cancel your cover
- Log in to your account.
- Select Go to Insurance Online to change or cancel your cover.
